City Council hikes second half fund bill to 446

Man Blinded By Storm Fatally Hurt In Lorain
Lorain Ohio reports one death from an ice storm when Byron Truxell age 36 of 2941 Livingston Avenue drove into a traffic stanchion at 8 45 p m damaging property and stopping streetcar service for hours. Police say he was blinded by the storm and died almost immediately. Street flooding and service disruption followed.

Lorain Man Ends Life With Bullet
Michael Langsham age 65 of Lorain, described as a nothing merchant, killed himself with a pistol in his son Dr Charles B Langsham's home in Shaker Heights suburb just after his son died of pneumonia. Police report says Langsham and another son Tsaae learned of the critical illness at Mt Sinai Hospital and returned home where a shot occurred in the parlor. Langsham's body was found slumped with a bullet in the head.

Body recovered after air crash over Ohio River island
Steubenville reports pilot Tal George, 28, drowned when Trans continental Western Air Lines mail plane crashed near Brown Island. Dr. Care Skinner Cole, a St. Louis physician passenger, is presumed to have fallen or leaped into the river. Grappling boats searched the river as the wreckage and 20 remaining mail pouches were scattered. the plane failed to bail out, and radio contact with Pittsburgh ceased at 2:38 a.m.

Bound Over to Grand Jury by Mayor
Troy Surrell, 26, of 901 West River Street, pleaded not guilty to robbery and was bound to the grand jury after arraignment before Major W. H. Van Oster. Police say he grabbed Mrs. Irene Krugman on Lodi Street near Friday's Tailor Shop, forced her into a doorway, struck her, and fled with her pocketbook. A motorist helped, and officers later arrested Surrell at his home. He confessed details, including where the purse was hidden, and led police to Cascade Park before returning home.
