Tanker Explodes on Rt 2 Killing Parma Trucker
A fiery crash on Rt 2 near the Black River bridge killed Parma trucker Harry Powell, 48, when an 8 000 to 9 000 gallon gasoline tank truck jackknifed and overturned on a slippery bridge. The blaze burned 5 6 thousand gallons before foam cooled it. The bridge was closed about 10 hours as crews pumped out fuel and checked for environmental damage. Powell is survived by his wife Sylvia.
