Six American Horses Among Grand National Starters
London March 18 Six American owned horses remain among 33 probable Grand National starters at Aintree tomorrow. Favorites include Didoric Dela Chance and Delaneige at 14 1 16 1 and 25 1 with Golden Miller 9 1 Royal Mail 11 1 and Ego 11 1 also prominent. Bookmakers risk heavy losses if any pick wins though Marmaduke Jinks and a Lincolnshire Handicap winner figure in the betting double. The field looks balanced though past records suggest limited American success in this 100th running of the race. Golden Miller won in 1934 the only former Grand National winner among entrants. The race covers four miles 56 yards with two laps and 30 fences, eliminations in the final stretch.
