District seeks better Spanish language outreach for families
Mendez, leading district Spanish services, says she acts as a bridge to 40 percent of Spanish speaking families. She aims to boost parent engagement and open lines of education communication amid concerns over translation gaps and inconsistent staff language skills. County to overhaul Pheasant Run sewer system with USDA loan
The failing Pheasant Run plant will be replaced through county action and a low interest 4.3 million USDA loan at 2.25 percent. Homeowners would face higher costs if the county did not intervene, with fees to connect and potential line repairs. The project aims to finish by summer 2018 and enable new construction after NOACA approved area changes. A public hearing is set for April 4 in Elyria.
