Lorain County will finance a 4.5 mile sewer line for the Pheasant Run subdivision with homeowners covering about 14 679.48 in assessments via property tax bills over 20 to 30 years. If 20 years then 733.97 annually. if 30 years then 489.32 annually.
Amherst students will test drive bio mimicry with a new elective, a stand-alone course at a traditional public high school. The program, developed over more than three years, positions the district toward innovative science education modeled after nature.
Great Lakes Biomimicry hosts an immersion workshop for educators from June 22 to 24 and July 27 in Akron and Cleveland. Open to preschool through 12th grade teachers, the program covers fundamentals of biomimicry and its curriculum use. Cost is 450 per person with payment due by May 1. President Donald Trump unveils a 1.15 trillion dollar budget that raises defense spending by 54 billion and trims domestic programs including the environment agriculture and the arts to confront threats abroad. The plan, titled America First, argues tough choices are needed to keep Americans safe.
Rep. Jim Jordan commends Trump and Mulvaney for a fiscally responsible approach while reviewing the budget, noting defense and homeland security funding offsets. Rep. Marcy Kaptur decries the draft as ceding the future and harming core priorities.

Ohio will delay submitting its ESSA plan to the federal government until September to allow more stakeholder input. Elyria Superintendent Tom Jama, board members, and others urged careful consideration of concerns before filing the plan.
