Lorain to Lay Off Seven Firefighters After Budget Vote
Lorain officials expect seven firefighters to be laid off this week as the city’s 2010 budget fails to preserve their jobs. Fire Chief Tom Brown warns staffing cuts drop manpower to 70 and could leave only one open station at times. Fire Union President Jonathon George calls the move unsafe for residents and crews.
