Elyria police Officer James Kerstetter, 43, was shot and killed after arriving solo at 326 W 18th Street to a report of a man exposing himself. Ronald Palmer is involved. Kerstetter died at EMH Regional Medical Center. A memorial fund is at FirstMerit Bank. He is survived by wife Tammy and daughters Misty Shelby and Bailey. Funeral plans pending.
