Arthur Benson, principal investigator for Sweet Dreams, said the study tests infants with a motion device, a sound device, or both. The motion device uses a modified paint-can shaker on the crib while earphones emit a soothing sound. In early tests 10 of 12 infants showed colic relief.

Former federal attorney Paul Gorman denied in a Justice Department memo that a $13,000 loan from a self styled creditors' representative in 1983 was improper and discussed future employment with Merle Weber while Weber worked on bad debts for creditors.
