Inside the locked institutions of Elyria and their youths
A writer visits a large city detention home and a separate youth institution housing about 200 boys. He describes two locked facilities, the isolation of the rear complex, social workers, and boys hopeful for placement while others run away. The day ends with sadness for unhappy youths and staff behind many doors.
