Mexican cops held in drug agent killing

Five policemen including a Guadalajara state police commander were reportedly arrested over an investigation into drug dealing and the killing of U S narcotics agent Enrique Camarena. Televisa and Excelsior reported the arrests with unconfirmed sources.

Public Defenders asked to handle Post's appeal

Elyria Ohio Public Defenders office in Columbus asked to handle the direct appeal of Ronald Post 25 of Elyria who was sentenced to die in August for the December 1983 robbery murder of Helen Wantz at the Slumber Inn. The office may assist trial lawyers and will follow capital cases case by case.

Retiring hospital chaplain Osbrone... Francis L. Osborne at EMH

Rev. Francis L. Osborne, 69, longtime hospital chaplain at Elyria Memorial, retires after 10 years of service. He will continue at St. Mary's Church while Sister Joan Tomcey assumes visitation duties. Osborne walked to the hospital daily, comforting patients, families, and staff regardless of weather or religion.

Kosar to quit Miami and seek NFL draft
