County official explains how automobile license taxes are distributed among districts. Twenty five percent goes to municipalities or counties for road maintenance. Five percent funds a State Equalization Fund shared by eight counties. Forty seven percent stays in the owner’s county for local road purposes. Twenty three percent goes to the state. Washington reports Ambassador W. Cameron Forbes will depart Tokio for the United States on March 22 aboard the president’s steamer. Emperor Hirohito will bid the American envoy farewell at a luncheon next Friday. Joseph Grew, the American envoy to Turkey, has left for Tokio.
The steamer Prince David, Bermuda bound, ran onto coral reefs and was believed a total loss. Four lifeboats helped passengers and crew to safety as the vessel took on water in four holds with decks awash. Mrs Alfie Freeman of 431 Ninth Street sustained multiple bruises about 8:54 p m Saturday when a car carrying her husband collided with another driven by Hans Ellis Calling at Middle Avenue and Fourth Street Mrs Freeman s car tipped over from the impact and the other vehicle struck a parked car Police reported Mrs Freeman was taken home in an ambulance
Dr. George Sutton announces candidacy for the Republican nomination for County Coroner subject to the May 10 primary. He is a Lorain County physician with ten years of practice and a Western Reserve University and Howard University Medical School graduate. He taught night courses in Cleveland public schools and is married with a nine year old daughter.
At Mc Cullaghs Lake near Lima on March 11 authorities recovered the bodies of three youths after a ice break. Everest Line and Clarence Rupert plus John Woods Jr were lost as their father C R Fessler and son Liosd aided in the desperate search. The incident followed a prior death at the same quarry involving Thelma Woods and her escort.
United Press reports seven deaths from drowning and accidents over the weekend involving Chinese residents and others. Victims include Ergevreit Lue, 22, and his brother Clarence, 10, in a drowning on M Callow Lake at Lima, with The Woods family linked to a body found in an abandoned quarry. Also dead are Pete Allen Fedele, five, in Hamilton by a falling barn door. Mrs. Charles Stobart, 39, hit by an improvised vehicle. Jay Boges, 4, after a car skidded and overturned near Stockdale Pike County. and Charles L. Kerner, 37, of Danville in fatal injuries.
County Auditor C. B. Kelser announced that stock owners in Ohio corporations must file personal tax returns with the auditor by March 31 or face a 50 percent penalty. In Paris, Walter E Edge protested to the Ministry of Agriculture against the embargo on American agencies, acting on State Department instructions.
Five township Farm Bureaus in the southern part of the county will gather Thursday night in Wellington at the dentharim of the ferrie Memeor iad Tdhivary due to a date conflict with the Wellington Grange. York police reported no trace today of a man who allegedly told Dr. BRB Shellenberger an osteopath hero that the missing Lindberghs would be turned over to Bedford authorities for a $56,000 payment next week.

The 227 to 198 vote kept the resolution alive for House consideration amid fiery speeches and crowded galleries. Congressman Francis Seiberling opposed the proposal.

Democratic leaders urged unity as party chiefs sought to rally rebels to back the one dollar per cent tax. A Newark detective and state authorities arrested Jerry Hyrohiches and his wife Ruth in custody actions tied to the Lindbergh case. An informant to United Press described a ransom note threatening the Lindberghs and urging silence, with handwriting analysis suggesting a single writer and a two man theory of the nursery crime.
Trenton March 14 state police bulletin reports investigation of an alleged Weaver Colorado gang arriving by airplane to engage in activities around New York. No important findings to date. A blonde baby report linked to a ship due in Hamburg was not confirmed. Police urge tips from across the counters. no arrests or clear leads yet.
A fair haired infant resembling the Lindbergh baby drew a 2000 strong Tennesse town into a day of spectacle. Sheriff Swicegood detained the child and guardians in Crossville after locals and tourists crowded the jail to view the infant deemed by some as the missing Lindbergh baby before authorities clarified the mix up. The child had been held four days in a Virginia village amid the swirl of rumor.

The last minute rush to file 1931 income tax returns was heavy at the Elyria interior revenue office basement today. Deputy collector Stanley H. Waite predicted today and tomorrow would be the two busiest days with the local office open until 4 30 P M to accommodate those yet to file.
Firemen battled two small blazes yesterday in Elyria. The first at 12 14 A M involved an automobile owned by Thomas E McBride damaged in front of 12 West Avenue due to backfire through the carburetor igniting excess gasoline. The second at Henry Meters 135 Cascade street saw chimney sparks ignite shingles, with roofing paper patching the roof to prevent further damage.
