Kellys veto of laws plan study fuels argument
Sheffield Lake mayor Charles Kelly vetoed an ordinance creating a citizens board to review city laws. At Tuesday’s council meeting, two councilmen accused each other of dereliction as debate heated. Bill Thompson called the veto a mistake and questioned council review time, while Treasurer Robert Hamilton urged adequacy of time to do the job. Griffore defended new ideas and criticized stagnant sewer and sidewalk discussions. Kent Hamilton accused Griffore of not finishing promised reforms, prompting countercharges.
