Perkins Township Middle School tackles childhood obesity program
David Wittmer, 12, joins a unique Ohio program at Perkins Township Middle School to lose weight through daily exercise and improved eating habits. About 25 students participate in the Nutrition Exercise Weight Control Concept, aided by nurses, teachers, consultants, and a $5,000 state grant for equipment. The effort focuses on self image and long term healthy living, not rapid weight loss.
