BRUYALA Ohio March 32 The city commissioners voted to remove the courthouse dome. The vote followed debate on the structure’s condition and a plan to replace or update the courthouse, with officials citing safety and modernization concerns for the decision.
Real estate transfers reported by The Land Title Guarantee and Trust Company at 219 Court Street list Frank Horan and others transferring property on East 28th Street to The Lake Terminal Railroad Co and Gertrude L Mathews transferring property on Shidale to Zilpha OMalley.
County commissioners considered removing the courthouse dome and the Madame Justice statue after roof and sheet metal deterioration raised safety concerns. An architect would be needed to plan removal and fund-raising, with estimates likely higher than prior $3,500, and material shortages cited as a barrier to repairs.
Dr Frederick M Boyce of New Orleans told the annual Southern Medical Association convention that human bites are more dangerous than animal bites due to a wider range of mouth bacteria and delayed treatment. He cited amputations in 124 of 11 years of treated cases and noted finger and hand bites often lead to serious infections, especially on knuckles.
