Two Men Fail To Rob Cherney's Beverage Store

Two men, described as late teens or early twenties, entered the store, one displaying a revolver, but were discouraged and fled as a car passed by. Last Survivor Of Little Big Horn Dies At 98
Al Windolph of South Dakota, 98, last known survivor of the Battle of the Little Big Horn and holder of the Congressional Medal of Honor, died after a week of critical illness. Former State Senator Dies in Ashland Area Funeral Rites Held
William Mortimer Brown 75 a former State senator died last Monday at his Sullivan home. Funeral services were conducted in Ashland with cremation in Cleveland and burial in Ruggles cemetery. Born September 12 1874 in Ruggles he lived on the family farm 45 years. A farmer turned state employee he served Ashland county as representative then two years as State senator for the 27 29th district. He was named to a European Committee as Ohio’s representative. He belonged to Floral Lodge 260 F and A M New London for 35 years. He and wife Mary Chilena Schobey celebrated their 50th anniversary last October 4. Surviving besides Mrs Brown is son Lt Col Kenton Scott Brown in the U S Army Air Corps stationed overseas.

Willis Iisnet 48 a Bendix Westinghouse maintenance man is in Elyria Memorial Hospital with second and third degree electrical burns and severe shock after an accident at the plant Friday forenoon. Erswell was repairing an electric welder and sustained third degree burns to the right hand and forearm and second degree burns to the right upper arm and shoulder and left hand. He is reported in fair condition. A former C. E. Ward Co. employee, Brswell moved to Elyria from New London and lives at 171 North Main Street.
