Ohio Edison Seeks Monthly Charge for Nonfuel Costs
Ohio Edison filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for a temporary service charge of about $1 per month for six months to recover nonfuel costs from out-of-state power bought during the coal strike. The utility says more than $7 million in nonfuel costs are unrecoverable under current rates, and customers will face nearly 10 percent higher electricity bills next month due to purchased fuel.
