Amherst trail extension advances with 3500 foot northward link
Preliminary site work begins this week for the Amherst Beaver Creek trail extension in Hollstein Reservation. The 3500 foot route to Beaver Creek will run along wooded slopes, be recessed into hillside, and pass within Indiana bat and northern long-eared bat habitat requiring tree removal before April 1 under the Endangered Species Act.
