Elyria council backs fire truck purchases over 540 thousand
The Public Safety and Environment Committee endorsed buying two fire trucks totaling more than 540000 dollars. Fire Chief Daniel Schue sought two 180000 dollar pumpers but favored a pumper plus a 360000 dollar aerial pumper with a 105 foot ladder. Delivery is projected for 18 months for the pumper, while the second truck is available for demo use. The finance committee will review the plan on March 14.
