Wellington Ohio report says Ralph Puder assistant superintendent at Wellington Electric Light and Power Plant was exposed to 34 000 volt lines while atop a transformer. Elyria Man Dies After Stroke Following Basement Fall
Willis Henry Baker, 65, of 131 Quincy Street, died at Elyria Memorial Hospital at 1 30 p m Sunday after a fall on basement steps. Coroner Dr Paul F Tillman ruled death due to a stroke. Born February 9 1885 in Lorenz Town, he had lived in Elyria since 1913, formerly of Wellington, employed by Harrison Tool and Manufacturing. Survived by brother William J Baker of Florida. Funeral at 2 p m Wednesday from Sudho Curtis Funeral Home with Rev David Hogan of Elyria Gospel Tabernacle officiating. Burial in Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Hope contract may end coal strikes in soft fields
Washington officials hailed a new 28 month contract with John J. Lewis' bituminous miners as a path to ending strikes in the soft coal fields. The deal raises pay by 70 cents a day to 14.75 and boosts industry payments to the health and welfare fund from 20 to 30 cents a ton.
