In Omaha on March 6 two men died in a hotel fire at the Commercial Hotel in South Omaha. William Daley, 52, perished trying to rescue his brother John as flames trapped guests on the second floor. Eight others suffered injuries in their escape, with more than twenty roomers fleeing in night clothes. Estimated loss stands at $25,000.

Eaton Center Home Burned In Fire Near Store
Fire destroyed the residence of Ray Denier near Eaton Station's grave yesterday afternoon at about three. Neighbors formed a bucket brigade and used water from wells in milk cans to stop the fire from reaching Barney Mack’s store 20 feet away. Three fires appeared on the roof but were put out. Denier and his four children escaped, with all furniture except beds moved to the street. The old frame house, moved to its location near the grave, suffered about $1,000 in loss. Neighbors housed the homeless family. Denier works in Elyria and plans to move to the city.
