Letting the Light Shine at St Marys Church Elyria

For the first time in over seven decades the east side stained glass windows at St Marys Church in Elyria are being unveiled after renovation work from the 1930s bricked up walls. N R teen indicted in stabbing death case

In Elyria a 16 year old North Ridgeville boy Daniel Kovarbasich has been indicted on murder and felonious assault charges for the January 22 stabbing death of a family friend. He will be tried as an adult. If convicted he could face life in prison.

Stimulus Work Experience Program Ends in Lorain County

Lorain County reports its 1.3 million Summer Work Experience program has exhausted funds after nine months. About 275 youths were hired for data input and clerical tasks at EMH Regional Medical Center and other local sites, with 13 workers aged 21 to 24 laid off this week. Mary Murphy, acting workforce director, says 77.5 percent of funds were spent, and the goal was 70 percent by October. Vivian Alexander previously led the agency.
