Demjanjuk interrogated on Treblinka murder charges in Israel
Israeli police began questioning John Demjanjuk at Ayalon prison on charges of collaborating in the killing of hundreds of thousands of Jews at Treblinka. He was arraigned in Jerusalem on the same charges days after extradition from the United States. If convicted, he could face the death penalty. Israel’s only execution was in 1962 for Eichmann. Also in Dayton Ohio, heiress Miss Cline left $1.6 million estate to charities and a longtime friend group, with a $5,000 trust for annual gatherings.
