Fire consumes Wellington business block in 9 a.m. blaze
A bitter cold Wellington fire threatened the Reserve Building on Public Square as flames ripped through Kinzer's Menswear and This 'n That Shop on the first floor and Rath skeller in the basement. About 20 firefighters fought the blaze with street salt to prevent hose freezing. Smoke forced evacuation of Cleveland Federal Savings and Loan Association next door. one firefighter reportedly overcome by smoke.

Stayner homecoming after seven years missing

Tammy continues recovery at home after paralysis battle
Tammy Harris a seven year old from Amherst has left Rainbow Babies Hospital and returned home continuing recovery from Guillian Barre after Christmas chicken pox. She now sits in a wheelchair eats independently and may resume physical therapy at Lorain County Rehabilitation Center. Her mother Ruth Harris hopes for tutoring so she can rejoin second grade with friends as doctors evaluate further therapy.
