Court bars LCCC sprinkler system installation
Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Le Roy F. Kelly enjoined automatic fire sprinklers in the basement storage room of Lorain County Community College's new technical science building pending a court review. The college board appeals a Feb 15 order by State Fire Marshal James Caldwell requiring sprinkler installation within 120 days, arguing the order is unreasonable and unlawful. Edward J. Conley, college board president, said the state owns the building and notes the sprinkler cost would be about 8000 dollars.
