Community events fill weekend with dances dinners and drives
The Lorain County Joint Vocational School sponsors a square dance at Keystone High La Grange with music by Richard Twining and Country III Plus I. Wellington youth host a spaghetti dinner at the Methodist Church followed by a public square dance at Wellington Town Hall. A Heart Fund benefit and a Rochester Rod and Gun Club fax drive are also noted with various schedules.

Third graders gain hobby crochet program at Penfield School
Penfield School's third graders under Mrs. Alice Adams and Mrs. Helen Sniarowski swapped baseball for crochet. Fifty five pupils craft afghans necklaces scarves beads rugs and vests as they complete class assignments before crocheting. The idea started with Mrs. Sniarowski during early arrivals and grew as students taught friends and even some parents joined in expanding interest among boys and mothers.

Teaching Bread Making in Self-Help Class
Mrs Smarowski with 13 years of teaching guides students in bread baking. The class divides into two groups one for baking and one for dough making, with dough baked into individual loaves and butter churned from cream for the bread.

Sampler Luncheon Planned by Wellington Women's League
The Wellington Women’s League will hold a Sampler Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on April 11 at the Eagles Hall with organ entertainment. Tickets go on sale after March 26 through members. Committee chairs were named for summer projects including the July 4th booth at Lorain County Fair. The next meeting is March 26 hosted by Mrs. Richard MacDermott.
