Girl receives second lung transplant after first fails
A 10-year-old Pennsylvania girl, Sarah Murnaghan, improved after a second lung transplant on June 15 following the failure of the first transplant just hours after the June 12 surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The family had challenged organ allocation rules that favored adults. The second pair of lungs came from an adult donor despite prior pneumonia.
