Division of Funds Proposes Separate Capital Improvements Levy
Elyria faces a possible November vote on a separate real estate levy to fund capital improvements. Councilman Victor F. Stewart described the plan as realistic, but declined to confirm administration support. Old Burglar Alarm Offer To Be Probed
Elyria council's finance committee will review an old burglar alarm proposal from Elyria Telephone Co after balking at costs of a newer plan. The 3395 installation in Troxel Building and 35 monthly, plus 200 installation and 35 monthly in O'Donnell Buildings, would link city fire and burglar alarms to police and fire switchboard. The aim was a citywide network selling automatic alarm service to industries, possibly funding itself. The project’s original timing and rationale were unclear.
