Oberlin Crane Pool Opens For Summer Recreation
Oberlin residents welcome the rebuilt Crane Pool, opened May 15 after a 1930 gift created the facility. Ground broke in 1930, cornerstone laid January 15 1931, and dedication June 15 1931 with speakers from the University of Nebraska and local officials. The pool serves men and women students and summer splash programs, with water shortages in 1953 briefly threatening operations but resolved by January 1954.
