Plane crash closes local airport as weather summary reports sunny warm conditions with a high near 84 to 88 degrees. Humidity around 69 percent in the morning, no precipitation in the last 24 hours, and lake winds from the south to southwest at 10 to 20 mph.

A light plane piloted by Charles Vietzen stalled on takeoff and crashed into two Elyria Village houses on Infirmary Road,Endangering occupants and playing children. Detectives investigated charges against a 70 year old man accused of being beaten by an 84 year old man over the affections of a 73 year old woman. No names were released.
