Ohio adopts graduated teen driver license amid toll on youth

Edward Johnson of Sheffield Lake earned his Ohio license at 16 just before a fatal crash at Avon. The state law shifts to graduated licensing starting Wednesday to curb teen driving deaths. It requires 50 hours behind the wheel, 24 classroom hours, and a 1am to 5am curfew for probationary drivers with limits on passengers and a 16 to 18 period before full privileges.

Hundreds of doctors across the country own and profit from tobacco allotments despite health warnings. Family practitioners psychiatrists oncologists and surgeons say not to smoke while their farms and clinics hold federal tobacco-growing rights.
