Sharon M. Rotuno age 53 of Vermilion died June 25 2014 at University Hospitals Cleveland after a five month illness. Born July 5 1960 in Cleveland she lived in several cities and worked as a check cashing company manager. She is survived by son Andrew Rotano and daughter Erin Fossa among others. Visitation Sunday June 29 2014 with a memorial service at 2 PM at Riddle Funeral Home Vermilion Father Frank P Kosem will officiate. Online condolences at the funeral home site.

War veteran Walt Huss remembered for war service and memorial work
World War II veteran Walt Huss of Sonoma County died June 23 2014 at age 91. He survived a kamikaze attack on a B 29 over Manchuria and ten months as a prisoner of war. He spent decades connecting fallen crew members families with the public and urged Americans not to forget missing soldiers. He and Eleanor retired to California after a long career with General Motors and raised two daughters. A memorial service is set for June 28 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.

Five Cars Burn in Carlisle Township Scrap Yard Fire
A fire at Butternut Auto and Recycling on Butthernut Ridge Road engulfed five scrapped cars when a spark from scrap cutting ignited a pile. Fire crews arrived, controlled the blaze in 15 minutes, and no injuries occurred though some car plastic was destroyed.
