Sale of the Century at Sotheby Sets Furniture Records
A 8-foot 6-inch Louis XV corner cupboard sold for 1.7 million dollars at Sotheby’s two day auction in Monaco, part of a 7.5 million dollar sale of French antiques that set new records. Other top prices included a Louis XVI commode 954,542 and Louis XV cabinets 590,909.
