Predict Break In Deadlock On Appropriations

In Columbus on June 26 a conference between Governor Davey and Senator Horace W. Baggott predicted a break in the deadlock over the appropriations bill. Baggott said the governor would accept the Senate demand for fully funded appropriations and redefined rotary funds. The governor resisted uniting 1937 and 1938 appropriations in one bill and vetoes any move restricting department transfers or board control over funds. The joint conference committee, while favoring a single-bill approach, may concede on that issue amid ongoing talks.
