A restless membership pressed for early adjournment while leaders support a revenue plan to replace retail sales and income taxes, aiming to reduce relief funding. A test on the Gunsett and Pfeiffer gasoline tax bills was possible as Pfeiffer urged repealing four cents to one cent while Gunsett would tax all liquid fuels. Observers expect next steps to direct more gasoline tax funds to relief and consider school funding via sales taxes and restoring the cigarette tax.
Col Charles A Lindbergh and Mrs. Lindbergh plan a two week start on a Atlantic pathfinding flight to Greenland then Iceland with a view toward a regular Europe air service for Pan American Airways. They will test a pointed route, map landing sites, and use a Lockheed flying boat with pontoons. A support ship departs Philadelphia for Greenland.
An earthquake in Kota Agoeng, Medan, Sumatra, left nine dead and forty injured. Many homes collapsed in Palembang and communications between Moeaza Doewa and Simpangan were cut.
Washington June 26 Attorney General Cummings announced publication of the names of gold hoarders would precede criminal prosecution in such cases. He declined to specify when either publication or prosecution would occur.

Bulletin from Palembang Dutch East Indies reports seven dead after a quake near Benkoelen with fears of many injuries. Over 300 houses destroyed in native villages as the disaster impacts Palembang Kota Agoeng and surrounding areas along Sumatra's southern coast. The Barisan mountains lie inland.
Shortly after midnight Saturday a car driven by Hazel Bradford of Rochester collided with a truck driven by Anthony Diugolecki of Norwalk on Route 18 three miles west of Wellington. Passengers Carl Nap Ida Stocking and Milton Stocking were in the car. all escaped serious injury.

A suitcase bomb exploded near the main entrance of St Peter's Church in Rome during Holy Year pilgrim entry. Four worshippers were injured, one seriously. Papal Gendarmes detained a man and Italian police took over. The device, timed with black powder, caused only minor damage and prompted broad searches of unclaimed luggage. Pope Pius XI called the act an outrage against God and men.
Eight persons indicted by the grand jury entered not guilty pleas at arraignment before Judge At Webber this morning. Trials set to begin near Monday. A downtown Lima fire on June 26 caused about $75,000 in damage to two buildings opposite the county courthouse. Four firefighters were injured when a nozzle slipped from their grip and knocked them down. three residents on upper floors were rescued by ladder crews as power lines burned away, interrupting car and light service. The blaze began shortly before 4 a.m.

Del Pollack Lorain assistant city auditor applied in Columbus for 55000 in scrip notes against delinquent taxes under the Marshall bill. The funds will pay city salaries and may be transferred or used to pay Lorain taxes, with county auditor C S Kesler approving and Lorain first to apply in the county.
Attorney Frank M Stevens Sr was elected president of the Lorain County Bar Association at a morning meeting, succeeding David Aiken of Lorain. R Summers of Oberlin was chosen vice president and J W Dilgren of Elyria secretary treasurer. Executive committee members named are J J Smythe of Amherst, Dan Cook of Lorain, and FF A Stetson of Elyria. Installations will occur at the annual bar ball for which plans are being made.
In Manheim Pennsylvania on June 26 Zion Lutheran church paid an annual rent of one red re on the will of Barom who died in 1799. The rent goes to Mrs. Joan Robertson, descendant of the Baron.
A county board of education meeting reduced the 1933 34 budget by 40 percent from 23 000 to 14 086 dollars. Supervisors Vaughn and Frank will oversee all schools including music with cuts in salaries for Miss Eva Mackey and E G Alexander and elimination of two assistant superintendents. Office space will be reduced and savings will come from staff cuts and supplies. Frank salary drops from 3 500 to 3 150 and Miss Mackey from 1 800 to 1 630. Alexander from 1 260 to 1 120.
Mike Peger, 18, a caddy at Colum Hills Golf Course and resident of i popa, died at hospital after a hit and run incident. Deputy Sheriff Gerald Nau reported Peger found near Route 252 east of V City around 10 p m Thursday. Funeral services were held at Haag Parlor in Berea.
Cleveland June 26 Mrs Benjamin Spero 48 was found strangled and beaten to death in her Cleveland Heights home. Neighbors reported she had been seen last Saturday and police believe the slaying occurred then. Police found her body in bed sheets after neighbors alerted authorities.
Gerald McGehan of Arenue Hop 45 Avenue received a $100 fine after a court session before Justice Walter MB. The incident occurred at a time listed as 9100 with unclear details surrounding the sign related matter.
