Moody Wears Sinister Face in New Merlin Role on Film
UPI reports Ron Moody, the English actor famed for Oliver! as Fagin, fears makeup altering his career. In Disney’s Unidentified Flying Oddball he portrays Merlin with heavy prosthetics and a villainous look, a result of decades as a character actor relying on spirit gum wigs and greasepaint. Moody, 28 when he began this path, now spends long evenings in makeup for grotesque roles while balancing a film about a spaceman in a time warp.
