Lorain County Children Services seeks 1.8-mill renewal levy
Lorain County commissioners voted to place a 1.8-mill renewal levy for Lorain County Children Services on the November ballot. The levy would cover about half the agency’s budget and does not raise taxes. The board also approved a three-year, 594,367 contract with NEOGOV for web based HR software to manage evaluations and time tracking.

Firefighters recover body after fall near Washington Ave
Elyria Fire Department crews recovered a 71 year old man’s body after he apparently fell 50 feet from a cliff along Washington Avenue. The body was located in a rocky area near the Black River with water rescue operations used to reach it. The man’s name was not released Sunday evening.
