Bengal mascot tiger escapes cage at Muskingum school
A 400-pound Bengal tiger named Monada, mascot of Muskingum Area Technical School Tigers, escaped its cage near Zanesville and led deputies on a high speed chase through a residential area. The animal jumped on Deputy Hammer, ripped his shirt, then fled until cornered and felled with a tranquilizer gun. the tiger died in a semirural area east of Zanesville after deputies and residents watched the pursuit with fear and fascination.
