Ohio stocks 9.3 million fish in state waterways
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources completed stocking of more than 9.3 million fish across 54 reservoirs and 15 lakes. Fingerling saugeye received 7.5 million units and over 1.8 million fingerling walleye were stocked. Stocking occurred from mid May to early June. Administrator Jim Stafford noted weather helped exceed production goals for saugeyes. The saugeye fingerlings, a cross of female walleye and male sauger, must be stocked annually as they cannot reproduce.
