Amherst Council President Attacks Mayor Over Pay Vetoes
Council President John Jaworski blasted Mayor Anthony DePaola for vetoing two pay raises for the city clerk Olga Livinski and cashier Elmer Valentine. He said the veto was unnecessary as the council could override and noted prior attendance issues. DePaola argued the increases were unwarranted due to shifting duties and state law or budgeting timing.
