Youth Killed By Lightning Near Lewisburg
Cecil Rhoades, 21, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas J Rhoades of Lewisburg, was killed by lightning late yesterday while seated in the residence of John Clegg two miles north of Lewisburg. The bolt struck the house and entered Rhoades through a mirror above him. John and Damon Clegg were knocked unconscious but recovered. The house sustained little damage.

Car Collision Leaves Man With Cut Over Eye
S. K. Telzerow of 107 North Maple Street suffered a deep laceration over his left eye yesterday when his car collided with a vehicle driven by Hugh M. Winchell of Stop 8 Lake Avenue at Lake and Foster avenues in Elmer Mertz of Oberlin Road reported another injury crash at East Avenue and Broad Street around 4 30 p m. A third pair of cars driven by Emil Klatik of Elyria and Mrs Florence Nabe of Bellevue collided at Cleveland Street and Gulf Road after Nabe struck Klatik from behind while he stopped for a traffic signal. A fourth collision occurred when Bernard Konowal of Lorain and Jane Andrus of Elyria rear ended at Lake Avenue and Huron Street as Konowal tried to avoid another machine.

Old Mileage Rate Restored for Probation Officers
Probation officers in Lorain County probate court will receive four and a half cents a mile for using their cars on county business. Judge H. H. Nye announced the return of the rate after a prior cut to three cents. Nye said he discussed with Commissioner E. F. DeChant and the goal is a uniform four and a half cent rate for all county departments with employees using their own automobiles.
