Oberlin considers private electric equipment use by large users
Oberlin City Council weighs amending the electric utility ordinance to allow large users to own or install power equipment. A dual rate would apply, with a 7 percent base-rate reduction for user owned systems, offset by maintenance and depreciation costs. The proposal includes a separate consumer cost ordinance for service connections and a possible tennis court project with the school board.
