Black River district faces annexation petition to Northwestern
A Medina County petition seeks annexation of 4 portions of the Black River School District to Northwestern in Wayne County. The Medina County School Board and county superintendent Harold A. White noted the petition, which 37 area residents signed, would affect about 25 to 30 pupils. The Black River and district boards oppose the move, citing careful prior consolidation plans. The State Board of Education is asked to rule. if no action occurs, the proposal goes to the November voters.

Mrs. Louis F. Reuter a former Elyma resident now in Germany received a Ph D in psychology from Western Reserve University. She earned a B A from University of Wisconsin in 1945 and an M A from Western Reserve in 1948. She returned from Germany in January to complete doctoral work at WRU. Her husband works for Celanese Corp. and their three children live in Frankfort Germany. She is daughter of Mrs Arthur Malier 790 Abbe Rd.

Sandusky bans sidewalk sales
Sandusky city commissioners passed an ordinance banning commercial activity on sidewalks and boulevards with immediate enforcement. Previously, notices were served 30 days before action. City Manager Goose cited a street merchant who refused to remove merchandise as the trigger for the new rule.
