Avon man receives $500 pacemaker donation for brain surgery
Todd Gauchat, a cerebral palsy patient from Avon, has been given $500 toward a so called brain pacemaker operation. The gift adds to about $5,000 in a fund led by Mrs. Dorothy Gauchat and supported by the Veterans of Foreign Wars post. The procedure could cost $20,000 or more and remains experimental under Medicare and Blue Cross coverage.

Boz Scaggs and folk stars set for Blossom shows
Boz Scaggs will headline with the Little River Band of Australia at Blossom Music Center on June 29, followed by a Seeger Guthrie duo on July 1. Both start at 8:30 p.m. Lawn seating is $6 for Scaggs, lawn $5 pavilion $7 for Seeger and Guthrie. Pavilion tickets may be reserved in advance at the Blossom box office.
