Medina man linked to Brunswick murder mystery

A Medina County man Thomas Yanasak 31 was arrested in Medina Jail on 50 000 bond in the slaying of 22 year old Brunswick resident Mrs. Carol Smith. Investigators traced a tire slashing and a suspicious offer to help the victim to Yanasak whose car matched a license number. Smith was abducted from a Pearl Road Conley store parking lot and found stabbed 27 times in a field near the Pine Tree Inn. Authorities say a Medina woman provided a description matching Yanasak but she has not viewed him in jail. His employer said he did not work the murder day.
