Car plunges into Wellington Creek after hitting barricade
Richard Johnston, 27, of North Olmsted, in fair condition with a fractured jaw at Elyria Memorial Hospital after his eastbound car at 70 to 80 mph broke a bridge barricade and dropped 10 feet into Wellington Creek. Bystander FACE CORTS, in fair condition with a fractured leg, fell into the hole while at the scene. The bridge is closed and the road rerouted for repairs.

An Elyria resident, 71 year old Mrs. George Lapp of 239 Pasadena Ave, died Monday from injuries after a Sunday night crash on I 70 near Sucre Missouri. She was a rear passenger in a car driven by Mrs. Helen L Kuss. others including Mr. Kuss and their 18 month old daughter Holly Jean were injured.
