Courage and Commitment of the Brownhelm Foster Family
Brownhelm residents Mr and Mrs RH Fairchild have raised two of their own children plus 13 foster youths from troubled homes on their 72 acre farm near North Ridge Road. Floyd Morgan, their 19 year old former ward and Brownhelm High School valedictorian, heads to the Navy as a chaplain's assistant after a standout scholastic and athletic record. The Fairchilds, praised by Rev Lorenzo Todd for their four key traits courage patience determination and love, credit the church school and community for supporting these placements and say many of the youths keep in touch and even start families of their own. The couple’s sons, Gil and Stewart, now pursue careers away from home, while the Fairchilds continue to offer stability and opportunity to new arrivals.

Kammiller Earns Master of Social Work Degree
Robert Carl Kammiller of Elyma received a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work during commencement exercises on June 9. A Ridgeville High School 1916 and Oberlin College 1950 alumnus, he is a U.S. Army Korea veteran.
