Sheffield Lake approves paying injured worker wages
Sheffield Lake City Council authorized wage payments for employee Tim Molich injured June 6 when struck by a road department pump truck. Molich, son of councilwoman Joan Ackerman, underwent surgery and was admitted to St Joseph's Hospital June 7. Wages will continue until Workmen's Compensation begins. Molich will reimburse later. Votes: Hanks, Higgs, Teresi, Sanders yes. Smith no. Ackerman abstained. Guenther absent.

At 12 42 pm police logged criminal damage to a car window at 238 Fifth Street with a BB gun suspected. At 5 35 pm a moped valued over 500 dollars was stolen from a residence in the 300 block of South Maple Street. At 10 pm an assault involving a 16 year old boy occurred in the 600 block of Hilliard Road.

Firelands schools earn a perfect audit, district says

Band of Flight Leads Vermilion Festival of Fish 1988
The Band of Flight a 60 member Air Force group from Wright Patterson AFB will headline Vermilion 1988 Festival of Fish June 17 to 19. They will perform at 6 and 8 p m Friday and noon and 2 p m Saturday as part of 600 yearly engagements. Other acts include Tom Martin City Heat Lorain County Banjo Band Pat Daily and Vermilion s Puttin on the Hits. Saturday features a 75 mile Poker Run a Crazy Craft Regatta an Antique Boat Parade and the Starlite Serenade on the Vermilion River at sunset with decorated vessels.
