Lorain County Farm Bureau Notes Community Initiatives
The Lorain County Farm Bureau reports progress on freight rate reductions within the state saving farmers about 4300 annually and supports the Great Lakes St Lawrence Waterway plan to bring ocean steamers to Toledo Lorain and Cleveland. They stress meat cattle tests, educate on state and federal expectations, promote tubercular-cattle control to achieve a Modified Accredited Area, and highlight corn borer cleanup efforts. The program also advances potato and calf education, club activities, and youth involvement through Box and Girls clubs, with hundreds of youths enrolled this year.
