Lorain Man Shot In Front Of 2064 28th St In Critical Condition
A 41 year old DeWitt Road man is in critical condition at St Joseph Hospital after a shooting near 2064 28th Street. Amanzie Williams Jr., 23, of 1537 East 29th Street, is in custody and faces charges after the witness identified him leaving the scene and claiming he fired to defend his wife from Tayborne. The shooter says he fired at Tayborne after seeing him move toward a pocket, claiming he intended to shoot the ground. Tayborne underwent major surgery for head and leg wounds. he did not have a gun.

Gilberto P. Rivera of 1651 East 20th St. suffered first and second degree burns to his upper body when an oven exploded while lighting it at Latvia's Bakery. He was treated and released from St. Joseph Hospital.
