Lorai County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Grunda was shot in the upper right leg while serving a warrant on Orville Pike at Pine Oaks Trailer Camp Vermilion. Boy Narrowly Escapes Injury on Lodi Street
Six year old Dennis Stevenson of 347 Lodi Street narrowly avoided serious injury Saturday afternoon when a dairy truck driver claimed the boy ran into the Hemminger car on Lodi Street at about 3 20. Edwin L Hemminger of 1411 Monroe Street said he took the boy home after a brief collision and police found the boy with only a slight hip bruise and no other effects. Officers checked the scene with Hemminger and took witness names.
